“Nothing is too much trouble if it turns out as it should” – Julia Child
We are always whipping up batches of this delectable granola. The recipe is quite forgiving, so feel free to make your own version with any of your favorite add-ins. Adjust the sweetness to your liking by playing around with the amount of sugar or sweetener. We guarantee it to be better than any boxed granola!
Makes 8-10 Servings
3 cups oatmeal, any kind (old fashioned, quick oats)
½ cups almonds, chopped
½ cups any other nut (walnuts, pecans, cashews, etc.), chopped
½ cup coconut, unsweetened and shredded
½ cup pumpkin seeds
½ cup sunflower seeds
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp kosher salt
½ cup coconut oil, or butter, melted
1/3 cup brown sugar
¼ cup liquid sweetener (maple syrup, agave)
½ cup your choice of add-ins, such as chocolate chips or dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, etc.)
Preheat your oven to 325 ° F. Prepare a sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside.
Dump everything into a big mixing bowl, with the exception of the add-ins. Mix with a spoon and spread onto your prepared sheet pan. Bake for 30-40 minutes, being sure to give the granola a quick mix every 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let the granola cool completely. Mix in your desired add-ins.
Place in a clear glass jar with a tight fitting lid. Leave it on your counter top to remind you how amazing you are. You just made the best cereal ever – from scratch.
